My primary role is teaching and preaching minister. I also serve in a variety of pastoral ways which include counseling, visitation, conducting weddings and funerals, and developing relationships across ethnic, political, socioeconomic, and generational lines. Organizationally, I help work with a wide range of people to help devise, implement, evaluate, and grow the ministry and mission of the church here at East Point. I also help organize and lead monthly ministry meetings which serve ministers of Churches of Christ in central Kansas.In June (2014), I spent three weeks in Zimbabwe doing mission work at Nhowe Mission. It includes, but is not limited to, time spent working with the Brian Lemons Memorial Hospital and the Zimbabwe Orphans Program.

My primary duties at West Side related to education, involvement, and small group ministries. I organized our adult education structures, wrote curriculum, taught classes, recruited teachers, set up classrooms, and acquired technology. I also did teacher training and small group leader training events. I wrote a variety of informational brochures for the church, and I helped coordinate the integration of new members, which included working closely with more than thirty church deacons.In 2007, I spend three weeks in Ghana, Africa, doing mission work.

I primarily taught high school world history and civics. I also created and taught an Advanced Placement course in European History for our school's history department, which was the first in our district.I also served as president of our school's Personnel Policy Committee that was tasked with working with faculty, staff, administrators, and the school board to revise and update policy. I was voted into this role even though I was not a member of the teachers' union.
