Performed due diligence to support several pharmaceutical acquisitions, most notably on biologics and API facilities and a women’s health company based in the UK. Currently vetting a facility in Serbia for purchase by a company in Europe. Among other experiences, advice is informed by unique expertise gained at Actavis, Teva, and Watson in manufacturing and packaging of oral solids API, transdermals, SS&L, inhalers, BFS, sterile injectables, IUDs and medicated gum and oversight of Global Stability Centers and Clinical Research Organizations.

Successfully acquired a women’s health product line and converted it into the foundation of a new pharmaceutical company, seamlessly transferring ownership of over 1200 Marketing Authorizations with minimal waste and out-of-stocks. In just 9 months, secured the infrastructure and licenses necessary to support first year net sales of 230M Euros. Innovatively managed costs and timing with a lean “asset lite” organization, sourcing and then overseeing third-party experts in manufacturing, quality, regulatory, medical information, pharmacovigilance, and distribution. Prepared and presented investor packages to private equity funds and the banking community.

Led the Watson/Actavis network rationalization that produced over $400M in synergies and savings from the closure of 9 facilities in Europe and Asia. Identified 3 overseas sights with the possibility of being granted FDA approval and worked through the steps needed to secure that credential. Instituted processes that transferred manufacturing to lower cost Centers of Excellence, created a social plan for displaced workers, and forged partnerships with local government officials to ensure compliance. There were no significant observations by any regulatory agency during my tenure.

Responsible for due diligence and optimization of key acquisitions, including Arrow Labs, Specifar, Drug Houses Australia, Actavis, Odyssea, and Warner Chilcott. Proactively created a playbook that supported go-no-go decision making, standardization of activities necessary for effective integration, and a risk/rewards assessment at the Board of Directors level. As the company grew, re-imagined the global manufacturing network, which resulted in the formation of a “cluster” management structure that championed one central vision executed locally.

Initiated and implemented a worldwide operational excellence program that maintained service levels above 95% and improved safety to <.5 LTIR at all sights. Spearheaded a procurement bidding process that resulted in > $150 million in API and outsourced finished goods cost savings, while consolidating the existing vendor base by 20%.
