I was the Senior Resident Assistant in The Maltings student accommodation, managing a team of three other students. The team provided welfare support for the students at the accommodation and organised inclusivity events. As Senior Residence Assistant, I additionally liased with the Facilities Officers, and was responsible for organising the monthly shift rota.

Providing care and assistance as both a lone worker and as part of a larger team, throughout the day and night, in supporting people of various ages with learning disabilities in independent living situations, as well actively promoting their independence and rights. Much of this was focused on supporting and recognising the emotional needs of tenants who may have difficulty in communicating, resolving conflicts between tenants, and building a strong rapport.

I worked as a Drama Counsellor and a general Bunk Counsellor in a summer camp for children aged 5 to 17 years old. As a bunk counsellor, I worked in a team of four in supporting twelve children aged 12-13 years old, living in the bunk, encouraging participation in activities, managing the children whilst on trips, being aware of potential welfare issues, as well as generally being responsible for children in the bunk. The role also involved general supervision of all the children in the camp during larger group activities and free play.As a drama counsellor, I liased with the equivalent drama counsellor and head of drama in the nearby sister camp, to assist the children to perform three plays over the course of the summer by auditioning, rehearsing, designing props, and painting sets.
