About Patrick Garza

I began my professional sales journey in the oil and gas industry where I learned about and sold complex technologies. All sales were tailored for engineers to understand. If you did not understand your product, you were not able to sell. Through developing relationships with clients and knowing my product I was successful in obtaining lucrative contracts from large name brand oil and gas corporations worth millions of dollars. I was able to stay consistent throughout my tenure and in 2015 I was nominated for the President’s award for being one of the top sellers in the US. I learned that I was capable of selling complicated technology and adapt my sales training to this unfamiliar industry.For the past 7 years I’ve been fortunate to run a small sales organization focused on construction services. These services included roofing, restoration, and remodeling projects for commercial and residential properties. As President I had the responsibility of leading, hiring, training, running operations and wearing many hats in the organization. One of these hats included managing the sales team. I set goals for my sales team, accompanied them on cold calls, and managed large account sales to ensure we closed on the business. The primary strategy for our sales team was door-to-door sales, which many consider to be the hardest form of selling. Most of our business came through property insurance claims, another complex process. Through mastery of this process, we were able to obtain contracts for these projects and also upsell additional services. We did not sell based on price because we knew we were not the cheapest option. Our differentiators included our knowledge of the correct way to go about the insurance claim process, the quality of materials used, the rate of speed a project is completed, and our guarantees that competitors could not match. My experience has made me a better problem solver, salesman, and leader.Outside of work, I enjoys fishing, grilling and smoking meats, wrestling with my kids, going on dates with my wife, teaching the young men at church, and practicing martial arts.
