  • Thüringer Landessternwarte
    Tenure-Track Researcher
Thüringer Landessternwarte Jun 2023 - Present
    Tautenburg, Germany
Research in the field of stellar (asteroseismology, binary stars) and planetary science (atmospheric dynamics, giant-planet seismology). Observations: spectroscopy and photometry in the visible domain.
  • Max-Planck Institute For Solar System Research
    Scientist
Max-Planck Institute For Solar System Research Oct 2017 - May 2023
    Göttingen Area, Germany
I was a software development manager at the data center of the ESA PLATO mission, scheduled to be launched in 2026 to discover and characterize thousands of exoplanetary systems. I'm in charge of developing data analysis support tools for the scientists of the consortium. The remaining 10% of my time I do research on the interior of stars and planets.I do research in the field of stellar physics (evolution of binary systems, seismology of stars) and planetary physics (atmospheric dynamics and seismology).
  • New Mexico State University
    Research Astronomer
New Mexico State University Aug 2014 - Oct 2017
    Sunspot Nm, Las Cruces Nm
I was an astronomer for the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS) at the Apache Point Observatory, which is part of New Mexico State University (NMSU). My job wass divided into the three following duties:1) Observation service: in charge of night-time observations 80 nights a year, which includes telescope operations, data acquisition, and data quality control.2) Research: Science PI of two NASA granted projects that have both started during Fall 2014. The first aims at calibrating asteroseismic measurement thanks to red giant stars that belong to eclipsing binary systems, which I detected in data provided by the Kepler space telescope. The second is an instrument project - JOVIAL/JIVE - whose purpose is to detect the oscillations of Jupiter and Saturn in order to understand their interior structures. 3) Education: Graduate Faculty at the NMSU to advise graduate and PhD students. Co-advised three PhD students.
