I'm a Rail Superintendent at waterfront Terminals in Seattle, WA.
Facility Security Officer: Terminal 18
I am currently the Facility Security Officer (FSO) at Terminal 18, Seattle and have previously served as the Facility Security Officer (FSO) at Terminal 30, Seattle and as Assistant Facility Security Officer (AFSO) at Terminal 5 and Terminal 18. As the Facility Security Officer, it is my responsibility to manage all of the Terminal's on-dock Security operations and officers. In this role, I am the Terminal management member that the Security team reports directly to on dock. As the Facility Security Officer, it's also my duty to upkeep and ensure that our Terminal and Facility is in full compliance with the United States Coast Guard as well as our own Facility Security Plan.
Yard Superintendent: Terminal 18, Terminal 30
I was a Terminal Superintendent in the Yard for SSA Terminals in Seattle, WA at Terminal 18 and Terminal 30. At both Terminals I was a member of the SSA Yard operations management team that helps oversee all Yard work and workers across a fully operational Container Terminal. We managed all Yard operations on dock, including the many various and disparate groups that work each Terminal day to day. This includes Teams of Skilled Longshore Laborers that operate heavy machinery such as Top Handlers, Forklifts and Semi-Trucks. We also manage the Clerks that Inventory the Yard, Sort and Flow cargo that is loading and also coming off of the many Vessels that come to the Terminal. As well as the Mechanics that upkeep and repair all the Vehicles, Heavy Machinery, Terminal Infrastructure, Cranes, Refrigerated and damaged Containers. We also manage and work with the Foremen and Chief clerks that lead and oversee each of these various groups.
Event Producer Of Critical Northwest (2023): Work In Progress
I Co-Produced my first big event with Critical Northwest (2023): Work in Progress.As Producer, I was directly involved in the process of pitching the event and it's theme to the board, building out the event and it's departmental teams, recruiting, interviewing and selecting volunteer department leads. Supporting, helping and fostering those leads in their efforts to organize, supervise and manage each of their 20 specific Departments and their teams of volunteers in the lead up to and during the event. As well as working alongside my Co-Producer and the Producer Mentor in order to handle all of the work coverage, contracts, certifications, budgets, paperwork and tasks associated with managing and producing a thousand plus person event. The event itself, Critical Northwest, is an annual, week-long, alternative arts and performance festival built completely by volunteers and participants. It's a vibrant temporary city built and nestled deep within the woods at the foothills of the Cascade Mountain range, providing a temporary community and home for the many volunteers and participants who attend. Participants arrive from far and wide, hailing from all around the Greater Puget Sound area as well as from all over the disparate parts of the greater Pacific Northwest in order to build, enjoy and experience this unique event.

I worked as the Security Manager at Terminal 18 on Harbor Island, Seattle. Duties ranged from Managing, Supervising and overseeing a Security Team of 18 to 25 people working both while on dock as well as off dock and off duty. My duties included ensuring the Security team conducted their duties in accordance with company policies and regulations. As well as maintaining, organizing and upkeeping the Security team’s work schedule and payrolls on a weekly basis.
Security Supervisor: Terminal 18
I worked as a Security Lead and Supervisor on the Port of Seattle at Terminal 18. I supervised a 10 person shift detail on a day to day basis. I oversaw and conducted access control measures at the Terminal’s primary entrance and also assisted the Security Manager with his Administrative duties such as scheduling and write ups.

I worked as a Security Officer in the Greater Seattle area, working primarily on the Port of Seattle. I’ve worked in various Security roles and positions in multiple environments and capacities. From working remote sites, land-locked container yards (S.T.E.), as well as every Container and Cruise-Ship Terminal on the Port of Seattle (with the exception of Terminal 5).
Security Officer: Seattle Cruise Terminals
I worked as a seasonal Security officer, specifically a Traffic control officer / flagger for SecureTrans Security at the Cruise Terminal operations at Pier 66 and Pier 91. This was my first position working on (or adjacent to) the Seattle Waterfront. At the end of the 2009 Cruise season, I was offered more regular Security work for SecureTrans at other Terminals, remote sites and locations around the greater Seattle area.

After my time attending Portland State University, I started work as a Sales clerk at a high-end liquor store in downtown Portland, Oregon. The store, 10th Avenue Liquor, specialized in carrying all of the best high-end Whiskey, Scotches, Brandies and Liqueurs from around the globe. As the store's owner at the time, was himself a connoisseur and wanted to provide a store that catered to like-minded individuals. I gained valuable experience in customer service, product knowledge, and inventory management. I briefly worked as both a Loader and Unloader of 52' cargo containers full of UPS packages at the Swan Island Facility in Portland, OR. It was my first real job out of college. My first non-seasonal position and a good learning experience.

For my first summer job following sophomore year of College, I worked in multiple departments at the Ocean Beauty Fish processing plant in Naknek, Alaska. Through this experience, I gained valuable skills working various roles: Fish processing, Case-up, Loading-Dock and Dock / Vessel work. It was a very good and challenging first work experience set against the backdrop of beautiful Alaska. Working 12-hour to 18-hour days in a demanding environment helped me develop a strong work ethic, improve my problem-solving skills, and learn to adapt to new challenges early on. During my time, I worked processing fresh / frozen fish, boxing inventory, palletizing cases, loading trucks for delivery, boarding tender vessels and assisting with dock repair.
