Hello! I am the Team Guide of the Adventure Curator Team at TomTod Ideas. TomTod is a youth development nonprofit based in Canton, Ohio that listens to, honors, and advocates for middle schoolers. Yep. You read that right. Middle schoolers, and only middle schoolers. We create creative community experiences specifically for 10-14-year-olds because we think their perspective is valuable and necessary for the community. I graduated from Malone University in 2015 with my degree in Organizational Management, and I have studied Child Development at Portland State and Mount Union. My diverse experience has been centered around journeying with children through trauma and helping them flourish emotionally, academically, and personally… but… I still hope to grow up to be a professional soccer player and win the World Cup.My early career was in business and online marketing. Then, in 2009 I traveled to southern Brazil to serve 30 amazing kids on a short-term mission trip that ended up lasting 2 years. Since then I have helped hundreds of students overcome adversity and trauma by building their social and emotional resilience as a teacher, coach, case manager, and mentor. My passion for empowering middle and high school students has allowed me to work with some amazing kids at STAR Behavioral School in Tuscarawas County, Phoenix Rising - Behavioral Health, and Project Rebuild - Canton's YouthBuild Program. For the past 6 years, me and my wife, Jordan, have fallen in love with Canton and their neighborhood in 44703. When we aren’t walking their dogs (Maggie and Mile) in Stadium Park, we are usually hiking or kayaking someplace beautiful. I love to throw myself into interesting conversations, research rabbit-hole, and new experiences that help me grow personally and professionally.
