Feb 2009 – Aug 2010Consultant R&D Director - Develop a strategy & business model/plan for contract medical device development within client. Led process development program for filter production including contract manufacturing elements and supplier selection. Recruitment of process development personnel and contract consultants. Development and negotiated agreement of R&D budgets. Sep 2010 – Mar 2011Consultant Senior Design Engineer Neuravi Ltd Development of self-expanding frame concepts for clot removal in cerebral ischemic strokes April 2008 – Dec 2010Consultant Technical Specialist – Creganna Design Services Design and development of catheter based delivery systems for Creganna clients. Catheter technologies included: o Drug and Biologic delivery o Mechanical prosthesis delivery – self expanding stents, in-vivo filters and shunts. o Steerable catheter technologies.Other responsibilities included: • Customer requirement reviews and documentation • Establishment of detailed design targets & product specifications • Test plan and detailed test development • Prototype development and testing. June 2007 – Apr 2008Consultant Senior R&D Engineer - Crospon LtdDesign of oesophageal endoscopic catheter component used with the companies EndoFlip system.

Lead designer for a balloon expandable stent program using novel MRI compatible alloys. Directly responsible for development of an IP clean stent geometry using state of the art FEA and metallurgy evaluation techniques.

• Develop products and processes, from initial concept to Manufacturing Transfer, in accordance with both CE mark and FDA requirements. • Develop and document: project approvals, project plans, human resource requirements, project budgets, design history files, design development reviews, risk assessments (FMECA, FTA).• Support intellectual property activities arising from R&D projects, i.e. structuring patent claims, teachings, artwork etc. • Ensured compliance of project documentation with Quality and Regulatory systems • People management of project R&D team members, in particular: recruitment, mentoring, goal setting, performance evaluations etc.
