WQOA was an online academy that grew from 70 to 430 students during the 2020-2021 school year. The academy was built to provide an education to students declared at risk of serious health complications during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Québec Online Alliance (QOA) is an alliance of 7 English school boards from across Québec. QOA was created to allow for a full slate of courses in a fully operational educational setting for students declared at risk by a doctor of serious health complications due to COVID-19. Our online project supports students from across the province. A true, province wide collaborative educational project.

•Special Needs, Life Oriented Training Program (LOFT). Coordinator and lead teacher of a program for students aged 16-21 with a range of special needs including autism, fragile X syndrome and Down syndrome. •Facilitate integration of students into the typical stream whenever possible.•Facilitate an environment of inclusion within the high school. •Created and operate, “The LOFT Factory.” A framework for doing various fundraising activities and for helping out with many tasks throughout the school community. •Manage programming for each student and coordinate and manage two aides who help in the implementation of the individualized program plans.

•Subjects taught: Mathematics 8 & 9 LD, Language Arts 8 & 9 LD, French as a Second Language (intro) 7 & 8, Social Studies 8, Physical Education 8 & 9.•Behaviour Disorder Program teacher/coordinator 7, 8 & 9.•Instructional Program Plan (IPP) developer and implementation coordinator.•Member of the Instructional Leadership Team (ILT), setting educational direction for the school.•Creator and chair of a district-wide Strategies (LD) Teachers Network.•Coordinated implementation of School Zone- a teacher/student/parent communication network.•Coached wrestling, badminton and cross-country running.•Organized large annual wrestling meet that hosted 20 teams and raised money for charity.•Talent show producer/director.
