Fleet Maintenance Supervisor
CurrentResponsible for overseeing fleet maintenance staff, including the Mechanics job classifications, and contractors that perform work on vehicles and equipment, Assists Department heads and other City employees in developing specifications for Vehicle and equipment purchases. Responsible for purchasing fleet related parts, equipment and operating supplies in accordance with City policies and maintaining an inventory of supplies.-Prioritizes and assigns work, supervises, inspects and provides oversight and direction tothe City’s fleet maintenance program.-Investigates and resolves complaints, issues or questions of the general public or citydepartments.-Monitors budgets, billings, purchases, and accounts payable. Monitors inventory andpurchases parts, materials, tools and equipment necessary to perform job duties,-Develops specifications, materials lists and cost estimates for vehicles and equipment forroutine maintenance and repair and oversees the disposal of vehicles and equipment removedfrom service.-Assures that work performed by the fleet maintenance staff is done in accordance withOSHA safety standards and those established by the City.-Provide recommendations in the selection, orientation, performance management, anddiscipline of employees in the assigned unit in accordance with City policy-Train personnel in proper work procedures and in the use and care of equipment andfacilities.-Assure fair and consistent treatment of all employees in assigned unit and that allemployees comply with all city policies and procedures.-Assure that work performed in the unit meets the city’s standards for customer service,accuracy, quality, and efficiency.-Direct activities of the unit to assure that appropriate communication and coordination ofefforts occurs with other units of the City.-Prepares reports, manages records and tracks labor activities for assigned personnel,
