Over my years at Fiduciary Law Services, Inc., my practice has involved a wide variety of legal expertise to address our clients’ needs. These services includes the preparation of specialized trusts to obtain favorable tax treatments (such as GRATs, QPRTs, and QATs), the creation and administration of closely held companies, tax planning for future events, preparation of estate tax returns, and settlement negotiations.

Worked closely with the Office of General Counsel on various issues facing a startup in an emerging industry, including land use and intellectual property. I primarily focused on protecting the intellectual property being created at Hyperloop Technologies. This entailed meeting with engineers and distilling the novelty of their invention into provisional patent applications. These provisional patent applications would then be sent to outside counsel for review and filing. Prepared provisional and non-provisional patents. This process included corresponding with inventors and a weekly call with general counsel. The predominance of my time was spent preparing the linked patent application for a mechanical crowbar control circuit board (US10095193B2).

Externed for the Honorable Marvin Lager, who was responsible for handling the Probate Court's mandated settlement conferences. I worked closely with Judge Lager to prepare for, sit in, and assist with the settlement conferences. Following, I would draft advisory memorandums regarding the issues addressed. When time permitted, I additionally assisted the Los Angeles County probate attorneys with research and preparing minute orders.

Researched tax and probate implications of various issues including the testamentary effects that freezing one's embryos may have on a family's estate plan and the effects of failing to dissolve a partnership after the term has run.Audited bank documents received through discovery and prepared such documents so that supervising attorney could easily use Performed accounting on discovery documents
