Provides engineering review of public waters supply projects within the State of Nebraska.Coordinates with consulting and municipal engineers to ensure applicable state standards are met, and conducts inspection on the following types of projects:- New Public Water Systems- Water Distribution Systems- Water Treatment Systems- Water Storage Facilities- Well Construction and Design- Swimming Pools- Mobile Home Parks- Recreational Camps

Coordinated two major programs within the water planning unit:Non-Point Source Coordinator - Administered about $1.3 million in grant awards annually through the state's non-point source management program. - Developed grant applications and budgets for the non-point source program. - Managed and Assisted in the development of water quality projects with governmental and non-profit entities. - Coordinated a team of seven project managers in the development and management of non-point source pollution projects. TMDL Coordinator - Coordinated the states' Total Maximum Daily Load program. - Worked directly with large amounts of water quality and flow rate data to develop TMDLs and the states integrated report biennially. - Assisted the Surface Water Monitoring Unit in the development of monitoring networks. - Worked directly with EPA to ensure that the regulatory requirements of the TMDL program are met.

- Project Leader for a water quality study at two sites in Lincoln, NE. - Trained and supervised a team of six undergraduate students in sample collection and sample testing standard procedures. - Analyzed water quality data to detect significant differences between sampling sites. - Coordinated data sharing and collection of water quality data with the City of Lincoln and the U.S. Geological Survey.
