I am a 35 year veteran of the mining industry, having advanced through exploration and mining geology, exploration geochemistry, business development, mining finance, and senior management. I have worked on more than 300 projects in 35 countries. Today I am most focused on resource related deal making. After managing business development at Fortescue Metals Group and Newmont Mining where I forged numerous deals in the junior resource sector. I have also founded and led junior companies in gold, copper, and lithium through all parts of the market cycle. I am adept at tracking and valuing targets...and bringing together buyer and seller.I am passionate about building excellent teams to tackle the challenges of any project. I love intense fast-paced environments. I also have extensive experience partnering with indigenous communities for resource development. I try to focus my efforts now on the nexus among: leadership, community, resource development, investment, and markets. Our business is fraught with risk, but extraordinary people are the best form of risk management! I have extensive management experience for both senior and junior companies, including budgets of up to $15 million and staffs as large as 75 people. I have participated in financings and transactions valued at well over $200 million, including multiple friendly takeovers and corporate transactions in the gold, copper, and lithium space. In addition to co-founding and leading a number of growth oriented mineral exploration companies (speculative public companies traded in the US and Canada), I am also involved in several private (unlisted) companies working the spectrum from exploration to mine production. I also have profit and loss management experience in a major mining service company. I remain heavily involved in research and publishing on the subjects of new technology, indigenous empowerment, leadership and future markets in the mining industry.
