For nearly two years, I worked as an Epidemiologist Specialist II on the STD Control Team. My responsibilities included but were not limited to:• Surveillance management of chlamydia and gonorrhea cases throughout the State of Arizona.• Monitored the incidence of chlamydia and gonorrhea cases to help identify new areas/sites in need of increased screening efforts. • Created yearly, quarterly, and monthly reports on chlamydia and gonorrhea incidence and prevalence in order to monitor long term disease rates and trends.• Analyzed chlamydia and gonorrhea rates based on demographics and risk factors pertinent to disease prevention and control and made recommendations based on analyses. • Created and delivered presentations to key stakeholders across the State.

I worked at Bilbo's Pizza in a Pan for nearly 15 years, and was a manager for nearly 8. I was responsible for maintaining food quality, cash management, and employee management. I ensured that food quality and restaurant cleanliness was in accordance with Community and State Health Department regulations. I was also responsible for training new managers and bartenders as well as interviewing and hiring new employees. I delivered numerous training presentations and developed the materials utilized during those training sessions.

During my internship at the Kalamazoo County Health and Community Services Department, I was responsible for the overdose death records research study. My work entailed the data abstraction and analysis of over 100 cases. I also developed and maintained a database in Epi Info that was utilized to store and analyze the data. As a volunteer member of the Data and Evaluation Team at Prevention Works in Kalamazoo, I gave numerous presentations and developed three fact sheets based on the analysis of overdose death records data. I also assisted in the development of three Geographic Information System (GIS) maps.
