As product quality engineer, my task has been to develop and implement a new quality assurance program where there has been virtually none for many years. As it exists today, the quality program I have developed includes quality inspections for incoming and finished good items, vendor management and corrective action, and Return Authorization management. As a result of my efforts, these programs have helped increase our ability to detect quality issues when they occur, reduce the number of quality issues that we encounter, and improve overall the efficiency and effectiveness of the operations department. The program has ensured that we are provided with the best product possible so that we can in turn provide the customer with the products that meet their needs when they need them. In addition to building out the quality program, I also do much of our inventory management and have at various times assisted with the administration and configuration of our ERP system NetSuite. Working with NetSuite especially has helped me to understand how what I do impacts other aspects of the company and the importance of abiding by the processes that are in place so that we can operate as smoothly as possible. This job has been a great opportunity to not only utilize my skills from previous roles but develop better understanding of process improvement, quality management and its significance, and understanding the bigger picture of how companies operate as a system.

I worked with Phelps Health as my Senior Design Project during my last year at college. My team and I were part of a three semester project that started in the Spring of 2021 and ending in the Winter of the same year with my team working on the project in the final semester. We were tasked with helping Phelps Health identify areas in which they needed to improve their approach to addressing the local Opioid Crisis in Phelps County and the surrounding counties. We formulated a survey to gather data on present perceptions and used this data as our metric to brainstorm our recommendations and strategies. The team devised strategies that included developing informational flyers on the dangers of opioid use, alternatives to opioid use for chronic pain, and the importance of prescribing responsibly. We also developed long term recommendations to be implemented over the course of 5 years in order for our strategies to be affective and cause noticeable change. I acted as the teams Secondary Project Coordinator and managed the teams hours, coordinated work that needed to be completed, and submitted the team's deliverables to the necessary stakeholders. Through the course of this project I was able to utilize the skills I accrued throughout my college career to work on a project that benefited my community and improve on my skills of communication and project planning.

While I was in colIege, I worked in a team for the City of Crocker Missouri to help them develop solutions to reduce the noise of barking dogs at the local animal shelter. These solutions included planting trees around the perimeter, building a retaining wall with hanging foliage, and a mass loaded vinyl wall. Our team was tasked with developing the solutions to include estimated costs, benefits, risks, and approximate schedules. I acted as the teams project coordinator and maintained the communication between the team and the project sponsor. This project helped me develop skills in project scheduling, budget development, and allowed me to use my strong communication to help make the project a success.

As a part of my college quality course, I was placed in a team to work through a semester long simulation working on a quality improvement project. We were tasked with identifying why certain shipments had longer transit times and were received with various types of damage. We had to develop recommendations on how to mitigate these issues and the benefits and risks associated with each solution. We used tools such as Lean/ Six Sigma concepts, FMEA, and Root Cause Analysis. This project showed me the importance of maintaining a high standard of quality control and the impact that has on the outcome of the product.

My internship with AGCO Grain & Protein was with the Quality Department dealing specifically with Supplier Quality. My projects required that I investigate the cause of a potential failed part and write a report to determine the possible severity of the failure. I also compared and verified steel specifications between PO and spec sheet to locate and correct discrepancies, performed color analysis of various steel coils from various suppliers to determine the supplier's deviation from the standard. My work with the company was to assist in optimizing certain processes to increase production efficiency. My time there helped me to understand the importance of the materials used in manufacturing and how they impact the final product, as well as the importance of eliminating waste in order to improve efficiency and reap higher returns.

As an consultant for Ameren, my responsibilities included verifying data regarding natural gas valves in multiple systems of records, assisting in documentation of company records, digitizing and standardizing manual drawings into MicroStation, and modifying As-Built drawings to specifications and standards. My work with Ameren allowed me to apply my attention to detail and work ethic to complete projects that were of long term benefit to the company.

As a technician for the City of Mattoon, my job was to perform maintenance on water meters throughout the city. This included performing meter disconnections and reconnections for job cites as well as noncompliant customers. I was also tasked with a project to verify the accuracy of the city's electronic reading system by checking it against the physical meters at the customer's location. I would mark discrepancies and later make corrections to the system to reflect the correct reading. During my time with the City of Mattoon, I learned how to develop my communication skills both with my coworkers as well as with the customers we serviced. I also was able to hone my attention to detail and apply it in order to improve the City's efficiency and effectiveness
