Procurement Specialist
Current1. Responsible for all aspects of the relationship with a specific supplier within a commodity. 2. Directs and manages all schedules, and purchase orders for the client account or the product family. 3. Ensures product is delivered on time, meets quality standards, and at the right cost. 4. Purchase machinery, equipment, tools, raw material, packaging materials, parts, services, and/or supplies necessary for operation of an organization5. Compile and analyze statistical data to determine feasibility of buying products and to establish price objectives6. Compile information to keep informed on price trends and manufacturing processes7. May negotiate with suppliers and analyze suppliers’ operations to determine factors that affect prices and determine lowest cost consistent with quality, reliability, and ability to meet required schedules.8. Review proposals, negotiate prices, select or recommend suppliers, analyze trends, follow up on orders placed, verify delivery, approve payment, and maintain necessary records9. May prepare request for proposals (RFP) and bid packages.10. May perform delivery assurance responsibilities.11. Recommend, implement, and monitor, continual improvement/quality initiatives, policies, and processes to achieve quality and profitability goals.
