CurrentAt school I was Inspired by Glenn Murcutt who was working on Newcastle Uni Students' Union, with climate responsive design as a primary interest. 1970 was spent working for Allen Jack & Cottier in Sydney before two years in the Oak Road String Band and off-shoots. A range of experience on building sites in Australia & UK was followed by degree and post-grad. studies at Plymouth and work for registration including developing a whole range of Project Homes for George Wimpey UK, interior design for Plymouth Airport Terminal, and concept work on the London STOLPORT with Donald Butler & Associates. Residential work with Ian Pankhurst in Maidenhead included Barn conversions, luxury houses over a wide spectrum, from Heritage Conversions to bespoke luxury homes and additions. Moving to Perth in 1988, projects have varied from University & School buildings, Commercial and Office buildings, and Transfer stations for the Northern Suburbs Transit System, with Brand, Deykin & Hay, in private practice; Toodyay Memorial Hall, BHP Petroleum's HQ in The Burrup and Dai Hung Village and Offices as consultant to BHP Petroleum.Commercial projects include alterations and additions to several heritage hotels; the Yanchep Inn, the Rose & Crown and the Mahogany Inn.As Heritage consultant for Conservation Planning, Assessment and Conservation Works, on various heritage churches, hotels and houses led to planning, with Gerard Siero, a Community Hall and Parish Centre at All Saints for Swan Parish.Meanwhile sustainable/ liveable housing remains an essential pursuit. Training in Urban Design has led to 20 years' campaigning to save Midland Oval as a Central park.
