Hired by Data-Link Associated (software/hardware vendor) as a BBx/Pro5 programmer for a legacy business applications software called AddOn, manufactured by BASIS Int'l. Supported several accounts with custom solutions. The much anticipated augmentation of the legacy (CUI) AddOn software with a new GUI interface called BARISTA brought a new business model for Data-Link, requiring the organization to plan to replace legacy installations with the new environment. I was the the in-house developer for Barista as DLA prepared to transition existing accounts from a CUI to a GUI environment.The new graphical interface of Addon is written in BBj (Business Basic with Java) which is which combines the graphical power of Java with the stability and efficiency of Business Basic. My primary focus was to first learn BBj and then prepare to customize the base package to fit the highly customized Data-Link clients as needed. As a preferred vendor for BASIS, Data-Link was also given a role as direct contributor to the Barista base package revisions for production and I was the programmer from DLA making many changes to the AP Cash Receipts application that were going to be incorporated directly into the base package for market. Unfortunately, an economic downturn for DLA, combined with major challenges in selling the new product to a broad base of legacy clients made my position financially unjustifiable. Laid off in November, 2013.

Originally hired as a Providex programmer/Project Coordinator, one of my initial challenges was to play a key role in improving communications and a culture of trust between IT and critical stakeholders, organization as a whole as well as with the WMS software vendor. I successfully re-established a culture of trust and collaboration, opened lines of communication with critical stakeholders in the organization as well the cooperation and support of the critical WMS software vendor and built working strong working relationships in the organization. Being the newest member in a department of 6, I was asked after just 1 year to assume the IT Mgr role due to organizational restructuring.
