About Patrick Jahn
Patrick Jahn is head of the Nursing Research Unit at University Hospital Halle. His research interests are on evidence-based health care, supportive care and cancer symptom management with a special interest in improving patient self-management and technical assistance and robotics to support patients` autonomy and reduce care dependency. Patrick obtained his Ph.D. on evaluating an intervention to overcome patient-related barriers to cancer pain management on Martin-Luther-University Halle-Wittenberg. He planned and conducted numerous multisite complex interventions clinical trials. In teaching he is driving force within the Medical Faculty Halle to improve basic nursing bachelor education with extended competences (according to SGB V § 63, 3c) and inter-professional education. Furthermore, he is part of the core group updating the Post-Basic Cancer Care Curriculum of the European Oncology Nursing Society. Patrick is scientific chair of the DPR Fachkommission DRG within the German Nursing Board and part of the commission of experts for the German Ministry of Health.
