After 20 years in Structured Finance and European (real estate related) Asset Backed Securities - of which a fantastic 15 years at team M&G Plc - it has become time to write a new chapter. I am proud to say I started Lion Consult, where I will be putting to effective use my network, skills and experiences developed over those years.The first mandate will be to re-finance, consolidate and re-model a construction company with a 90+y track record and a real estate developer into a diversified investment platform for the next generation. Stay tuned.

After a 2y sidestep into a Benelux origination role for our Alternative Credit teams, I have taken up my former role as portfolio manager in ABS, based out of Luxembourg and soon Paris. This is to ascertain our European clients and their segregated mandates can be actively managed out of Europe.

As of Nov 2018, with approximately $350bn in AUM, M&G is the largest private credit investor in Europe and the 2nd largest in the world. M&G is also the 3rd largest infrastructure investment manager globally. After having build the Asset Backed Securities platform into a highly successful business unit at M&G over the past 11y, Patrick's new role is now focused on sourcing investment opportunities in the Benelux across all areas of fixed income. This includes (but is not limited to) public and private debt, real estate debt and infrastructure debt across the entire risk/return spectrum.

At M&G, Patrick was a portfolio manager in European Structured Credit for 11y. There, he had set-up and managed a whole variety of pooled and segregated ABS portfolios on behalf of institutional clients across Europe and the Middle-East. Clients included bank treasury portfolios and insurance companies but mainly pension funds. The strategies ran from liquid cash park to investment grade and non-investment grade portfolios across asset types including RMBS/CMBS/CLO/ABS and capital relief trades.

At BNP Paribas Fortis, Patrick was a senior analyst in European ABS, with a particular expertise in real estate - CMBS and RMBS. He was responsible for analysing investment opportunities across a range of portfolios including CDO of ABS, bank investment book and the SIV/conduit.

At Merit Capital, Patrick was a stock analyst for US securities and did brokerage.
