A lifetime of practical experience has convinced me that creative ideas and communications are the key to achieving success. My job is to change things: sometimes this means changing how an organisation presents itself to the world; sometime it is creating a new website or a social media campaign; sometimes it can be doing something unexpected such as when I commissioned a new piece of music called "Fanfare for the Hard of Hearing" to launch a campaign to get people to get their hearing tested - first played on Radio 4's Today programme it had an incredible effect when over 50,000 people phoned into the BBC to try to get more information from the (then) RNID.My paintings and prints have been widely exhibited all over the world. While quietly working away in my studio one day in 2009 I was amazed to find that William Shakespeare had "materialised" in the bottom right hand side of the painting I was working on. A few months later the painting, by then called "Shakespeare's Desert Island Discs", was exhibited at The Royal Watercolour Society's annual exhibition at the Bankside Gallery. It was seen by some important people from Shakespeare's Globe Theatre and I was commissioned to put on an exhibition of my work at The Globe."Shakespeare's Treasure" is a magical series of 37 paintings, based around quotes from all of the Bard's plays. It contained a complex mystery and a riddle that visitors to the show and the web site were invited to solve. The eventual winner would win a fabulous golden mask of Shakespeare, studded with diamonds, emeralds and other precious stones. Each painting was inspired by paintings in The National Gallery and they supported my project by allowing me to show reproductions of the original masterpieces next to my paintings. Other corporate supporters included Lloyds Bank, The London Enterprise Agency and The Marlowe Society. Lady Marina Vaisey, the renowned art critic and Turner Prize judge was our patron.
