Hi! I’m Patrick Jong, a second-year Software Engineering student at Curtin University. With a solid foundation in Java and C programming, I am passionate about problem-solving and software development. I continuously seek to apply my skills to real-world challenges while enhancing my technical expertise.I am actively involved in opportunities related to my degree, including serving as an Ordinary Committee Member of the Computer Science Students Association (ComSSA). In this role, I contribute to the tech team by maintaining the ComSSA website and assisting in organizing revision sessions for first-year students. Additionally, I’ve undertaken various computing projects at university that have deepened my practical knowledge.Although I had limited industry exposure before university, I have rapidly acquired skills and mastered concepts, evidenced by my inclusion on the Vice-Chancellor’s List, placing me in the top 1% of undergraduates. I have also been awarded the Curtin Excellence Scholarship due to my high ATAR and have consistently maintained a course-weighted average (CWA) above 80, earning several letters of commendation.Beyond academics, I’m actively involved in extracurricular activities. I compete in the State League Reserves division of Western Australia’s Volleyball League (WAVL), serve as a committee member of the Multicultural Students Union, and volunteer in various capacities. These experiences have strengthened my teamwork, communication, and time management skills.
