Patrick Joy is the founder of Suretank Group and was the 2013 EY Entrepreneur of the Year. He is a Chartered Mechanical Engineer (University College Dublin, 1974) and also has an MBA (Trinity College Dublin, 1988). Married to Mary, they have 5 children and four grandchildren and live in Baltray, Co. Louth. Outside of his large family, Patrick’s main interest is golf followed by rugby, reading and bridge.Patrick recently bought back Suretank Group from Hitecvision, the Norwegian Private Equity who acquired a 2/3rds majority share from him in 2013. The company is currently restructuring from being an equipment supplier only to the Oil and Gas industry to an OSM (off site manufacturer) of modular equipment for data centers, pharma industries, water treatment and other process industries. Transport tanks remain an important part of Suretank's business. The range includes tanks for cryogenic liquids (oxygen, nitrogen, helium and hydrogen), LPG, Helifuel and a wide range of hazardous chemicals. Suretank's main manufacturing facilities are in Dunleer and Castlebellingham, Ireland with further manufacturing plants in Great Yarmouth, UK and Houma, USA. Patrick invests via in early stage businesses in partnership with the European Angel Fund. He is a Director of Suretank Group, East Coast Bakehouse, VT-IOT, Pizzabaker Invest Ireland, CEBL, EAF Irish Angels Nominees 13 and Aphix Ltd. He is a Past President and Council Member of the Irish Exporters Association, a member of Engineers Ireland, the RDS and Co. Louth golf club.,
