The Benefits Specialist is responsible for organizing and managing the administration of all ancillary and non- ancillary employee benefits programs. Provide excellent customer service to employees both verbally and in writing, regarding plan provisions, enrollments, qualifying event changes and other general inquiries. Serve as primary contact to employees, plan vendors, and third-party administrators regarding benefit plan questions, answers, and modifications. Oversee day-to-day operations of employee benefit plans, including but not limited to, health, dental, vision, FSA- Health and Dependent Care, Disability, Group and Supplemental Life Insurance, all retirement accounts, and employee elected supplemental benefits. Coordinate daily benefits processing which includes but not limited to review and processing New Hire benefit enrollments, managing qualifying event changes, termination changes, beneficiary updates, disability, accident and death claims, rollovers, QDROs, QMCSOs, distributions, loans, hardships, and compliance testing. Administer leave of absence requests and accommodations. Advise/ Make recommendations to department leaders regarding interaction of leave laws with paid or unpaid time off, worker’s compensation, modified work schedules, and short term and long- term benefits. Coordinate with external administrators to assist employees with filing for or claims related to short term or long-term disability. Assist with preparing, marketing, and coordinating Open Enrollment activities. Works closely with Manager, Total Rewards and Director, Human Resource to evaluate current and new market plan offerings to ensure employee/employer cost effectiveness.
