About Patrick J. Juneau, P.Eng.

As the Director General of Indigenous and External Relations Branch at Crown-Indigenous Relations and Northern Affairs Canada (CIRNAC), I lead a team of policy analysts and advisors who work closely with Indigenous partners, provincial and territorial governments, and other stakeholders to advance reconciliation and support the well-being of Indigenous communities and Northerners. I have been in this role since June 2023, and I bring over 10 years of experience in policy development, analysis, and implementation in various domains, including energy, security, intelligence, and safety.My core competencies include policy writing, analytical skills, risk management, and strategic thinking. I also have a strong background in engineering, with a professional engineer certification and degrees in chemical engineering, biochemistry, and systems science and theory. I am passionate about applying my knowledge and skills to address complex and emerging challenges and opportunities in the Indigenous and Northern affairs sector, and to contribute to the Government of Canada's priorities and objectives. I am fluent in both English and French, and I have represented Canada internationally in bilateral and multilateral fora.
