As an Intern at Mbarara Regional Referral Hospital, I had the privilege of immersing myself in the dynamic and challenging world of healthcare. This experience not only enhanced my medical knowledge but also allowed me to develop essential skills that have shaped me into a dedicated and compassionate healthcare professional.During my internship, I actively participated in various departments, including the Emergency Room, Pediatrics, Internal Medicine, and Surgery. Working alongside experienced physicians, nurses, and healthcare staff, I gained firsthand exposure to a diverse range of medical conditions, treatment protocols, and patient care practices.In the Pediatrics department, I had the opportunity to interact with young patients and their families. I learned the significance of creating a comforting and reassuring atmosphere, especially for children in distress. I actively participated in pediatric examinations, administered vaccinations, and assisted in the diagnosis and treatment of various pediatric illnesses. This exposure enhanced my patience, empathy, and ability to effectively communicate with both children and their caregivers.The Internal Medicine rotation provided me with valuable insights into the diagnosis and management of complex medical conditions.
