Patrick Kabugi is an award-winning composer and sound designer. He has worked on over 10 local and international films including Strength of a Woman, Ghost Letter, Msichana ana Bahati and the winner of Best Movie, East Africa and Best Movie Overall in the 2018 Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards, 18-Hours.Patrick won the 2014 Kalasha Film & TV Award for Best Original Score for Strength of a Woman for which he was also nominated for best sound mix. He was nominated for Best Sound Mix in the 2015 Kalasha Film & TV Awards for for the student film, No Behavior and in the 2017 Riverwood Film & TV Awards for Ghost Letter.With over 14 years of experience, Patrick has composed music for over 10 local and international films and has mixed sound over 300 TV episodes including such series as Twisted, Loko Loko and Sunrise, 100 radio episodes of The Team, and tens of TV and Radio commercials for such brands as Toyota, Nivea, Standard Chartered and Safaricom Live. Patrick is also a Senior Lecturer at the Africa Digital Media Institute where he teaches Sound Design for Film and Composing Music for media amongst other courses.
