After my studies in Tübingen and Stanford University I started as a speechwriter and strategist in German federal politics. In 1997, five years on, I changed sides and have since spent two decades in communications roles for leading multinational brands in different industries. During my time at Reemtsma, Nike and Shell I wore different hats with growing size - anticipating issues, leading crisis management, driving Brand PR, overhauling Public Affairs, moving CSR from philanthropy to strategic sustainability and taking consumer engagement digital. I have enjoyed living in different countries and working with people all over the world. My role at Coca-Cola, one of the true global companies, allows me to apply my skills, experience and passion on a daily basis, with a deeper focus on digitalizing Public Affairs and corporate communications. Working for an organization like Coca-Cola has also given me the privilege to speak to thought leaders in government, business, NGOs and technology on how they view our changing world and what they see as our most pressing issues for companies, governments and civil society. Contributing to finding meaningful answers to these issues is one of the things that are driving me professionally and personally.
