Patrick is an experienced Researcher with a demonstrated history of working in the higher education industry. Skilled in Verification and Validation (V&V), Microsoft Office, SolidWorks, Leadership, and Computer Aided Engineering. Patrick has a research focus in the Aerospace industry by studying damage modes in advanced composites, where he has published and presented 2 articles at aerospace conferences around Canada as well as a journal publication in Composites Part B. He has proven to be a strong research professional with a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) focused in Mechanical Engineering and Materials Science from Queen's University. Patrick has a unique exposure to Finite Element Analysis and Topology Optimization in the form of graduate level courses on the theoretical and mathematical concepts behind the software. The exposure came with hands on experience with real world problems and tutorials which has given him the level of understanding that is not typically found with a new graduate. This gave him extensive experience with slicing software as well as 3D printing maintenance and trouble shooting. His experience working in his lab landed him the job as a lecturer in a hands on 3D printing laboratory at Queen's University for second year mechanical engineering students where topics varying from FDM printing with ABS to metal AM and Selective Laser Sintering were covered. This came with a full day training session from a Stratysys technician on the operation of an industrial sized printer as well as advanced slicing techniques.
