In my experience in Business Development and Capture Management, I have found that the importance of the relationship with a potential (or current) customer is just as important (if not more) than the product offered. Sharing the passion of the end user and the customer, I become the translator in their organization to enable them to make the best decision on acquiring a solution for the users to do their job effectively and the customer to attain it efficiently.I have been engaged in all facets of military procurement and in the use of their equipments and services.For over 30 years I have been involved in the 'system', from the Requirements phase of the military all the way down to the end-user (THE MOST IMPORTANT ROLE).My experience as an operator and technician in the Navy has allowed me to have a better understanding of the needs of militaries and their equipments - do we really need it, can we afford it, can we fix it, can we use it in the future.I was an end-user (customer (Navy)) for over 10 years, joined Industry as a technician (testing and qualification) and evolved into Integrated Logistics Support (influencing design for supportability) and then I managed/developed proposals for military products (the requirement) to finally business development and capture management.Using this experience I am now able to provide customers an understanding of what their problems are and how to work with them to solve the problems - using their resources.
