Managed teams of IT professionals providing a wide variety of IT services to BC Hydro, BC Transmission Corporation (BCTC), and Accenture Business Service for Utilities (ABSU).• Service Manager for BC Transmission CorporationResponsible for the delivery of all ABSU IT services provided to BC Transmission Corporation (BCTC) including IT infrastructure, Software Development and Sustainment, and Project Delivery. Worked closely with BCTC Business Owners, the BCTC and the BC Hydro Offices of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO), joint project teams, and sustainment resources to plan, deliver, and manage the entire outsourced IT environment, while meeting or exceeding all service levels.• Senior Manager, Service Management OfficeDefined, enabled, and supported the business processes of a large, outsourced IT Organization. This included governance, strategy development and execution, service management (including contract management, service level management, quality assurance and benchmarking), and performance management (including incident, problem, change, asset, security, and service request management). Was responsible for the IT Services project management office, process management, methodology and tools, and key components of financial management.• Operations Lead, BC Electronic Health Record TeamLeader of the Operations Team on a large, multi-vendor project working with the BC Ministry of Health to establish electronic medical records for British Columbia. This included complex infrastructure design and operation plans for several province-wide systems which were vital to the province’s eHealth strategy, including the Electronic Health Record.

Led a profitable, growing department of 15-20 technology consultants providing IT infrastructure and sustainment services to BC Hydro including enterprise architecture and standards development, security, network, hardware, software, methodology, tools, administration and support. Responsible for an evolving portfolio of 20-30 projects, executed using Westech and BC Hydro staff, vendors, consultants, and contractors. Directed multiple projects concurrently to achieve client objectives. Acted as a program or project manager for critical enterprise initiatives including:• Program Manager, Critical Infrastructure Protection Program, BC Transmission CorporationLed the initial implementation of the North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) Critical Infrastructure Protection standards at BCTC. Implemented the physical and cyber security protocols enabling BCTC to obtain NERC compliance. This work was extended to incorporate these requirements into the design and implementation of BCTC’s Fraser Valley Operations (FVO) center, including the network infrastructure.• Practice Manager – Enterprise Technology Architecture PracticeManaged a team of technical architects providing services to BC Hydro. Selected projects include BC Hydro’s Goal Technology Architecture refresh, SAP Customer Information System technical and application architecture, Enterprise Integration Broker implementation, Java Application Environment Architecture and Implementation, and governance models for shared hardware, application and middleware environments.• Project Manager – ERP Technical Infrastructure Projects, BC HydroDirected multiple project teams concurrently who were responsible for the technical architecture, infrastructure implementation, and technical support of PeopleSoft Financials, PeopleSoft Enterprise Performance Management, Indus PassPort, and the enterprise data warehouse.

Conducted projects to expand and improve the BC Hydro enterprise technology architecture based on evolving business requirements. This included the evaluation, selection, and standardization of enterprise software and tools used by the organization. Examples are database-oriented middleware, online analytical processing and reporting tools, e-commerce packages, document archival and retrieval systems, an enterprise directory service, message-oriented middleware, and distributed transaction processing and object brokering middleware. Worked with the Enterprise Technology Architect to communicate the evolving standards and educate technical staff and service providers.

Planned and managed the application conversions for this enterprise project. Facilitated enterprise design sessions and led a team that developed the Intel and Macintosh application conversion strategies. Managed the lab testing of over 400 applications in two certification facilities. Determined the enterprise standard applications for all common software. Managed analysts to develop data conversion procedures for 50 applications being phased out. Coordinated both the technical and end-user pilot projects.

Developed client-server applications for contract management of BC Hydro construction projects and for materials management at BC Hydro’s main distribution center. Led technical team members on software development projects. Ran a Distributed Computing Environment Pilot Project.

Developed computer evaluation and forecasting models. Carried out financial and economic impact assessments and other analytic projects as an internal consultant to various departments in the Ministry. Developed a financial and economic evaluation capability in support of native land claim negotiations. Was a member of the division’s System Network Architecture group.
