I just graduated from Western University with an M.A. in Public History. I maintain several contract jobs in the public history field, specializing in oral history, the history of race, historical research consulting, and museum collections management and exhibit design. My personal research and professional interests lie in Black Canadian history, specifically educating public audiences about such history, raising awareness about Canada's historical relationship with white supremacy and the ways in which that relationship informs and shapes our present, and acting as an ally (as a researcher, as a public historian, and as a person) by amplifying Black voices through oral history projects that record the experiences of Black Canadians. These oral history projects aim to provide a space for Black Canadians to reclaim their agency and voices, and to document and share their experiences (which have been consistently and systematically excluded from Canadian education and consciousness).
