Washed up offensive lineman applying the intangibles I learned on the field to product development and client relationship management.I parlayed my experience managing projects within my first role on the marketing team at CapTech into a role managing IT projects as a consultant. I scratched my entrepreneurial itch by helping start a new service offering, quickly learning all the ins and outs of the SaaS product we were implementing. I also managed consumer data privacy projects for a Fortune 200 CPG company. After a few years in the real world, I purchased a bounce house company - Jump for Joy RVA - with a teammate of mine from college in February of 2020. Little did I know the challenges I was jumping into by buying a party based business right before parties became illegal. I learned how to quickly adapt to changing environments, the importance of the "boring" parts of business, and how to view my role as an employee through the lens of a business owner. Between my consulting job and running this business, I worked 80-100 hours a week for 3 years straight, turning what had been a ~$35,000 annual business into a $150,000 annual business. During that time, I met and married my wife, and I learned the cost your family pays for you to be an entrepreneur. After we had achieved the financial goals that we had set out to achieve - buying a house, paying cash for a wedding, and paying off over $70,000 in student loans, I hung up my cleats as a bouncy operator. In 2022, I left my first job to join UDig, where the training wheels came off. As a consultant at a small, lean consultancy, I had the opportunity to wear all the hats of account management, product ownership, business analysis, and traditional project management. In addition to my client-facing responsibilities, I have also overhauled our internship program to rigorously test the skills of our next generations of technical talent while also providing no-cost value to some of our clients."Off the field", I am a powerlifter, history buff, armchair theologian, and new dad.
