CurrentWorkers' Compensation Underwriting Specialist for all states, outside of the monopolistic jurisdictions. Experience in all phases of the underwriting process, handling 20,000+ individual requests on a yearly basis.Selected to be a part of the Payroll Underwriting team to service the company's largest partners. Underwriting Operational Items: Handle all Underwriting requests for new and renewal policies, post-issuance. Process change requests and endorsements (amending coverages, name/entity changes, payroll, class codes, states/locations, officers), bureau criticisms, and alerts from our Premium Audit and Claims departments. Assist internal Customer Service, Premium Audit, and Claims teams with any information requests. Renewal Underwriting Reviews: Asses existing policies to determine that they meet our current underwriting guidelines. Make any updates necessary updates so that the policy reflected accurate information. (class codes, payroll, business information, officer information) Follow all state and regulatory guidelines to determine that review timelines are followed. Work with Premium Audit and Claims departments as needed for any additional information requests. New Business Underwriting Reviews: Review prospective policies for acceptability with internal underwriting guidelines and accuracy based on available business information. Verify accurate class codes/operations, and business/entity information. Communicate with the agent as needed with information requests and any pre-issuance changes. Assist internal Customer Service team and outside retail and wholesale agents via telephone hunt group to provide general information or handle formal requests. Act as a referral source and mentor for new employees and employees in different business units.
