In the context of my Entrepreneurship & Retail Management studies at Hanze University of Applied Sciences in Groningen, my project group, consisting of Wout Bazuin, Martijn de Jonge, Robin de Jonge, Tom Mikkers, and myself, was tasked with developing an innovative product within the "Energy" category. The outcome of our project is the Sensorify, a compact device shaped like a puck that can be easily attached to the bottom of a radiator using magnets. This module uses RF 433MHz to communicate with a simple window and/or door sensor.The Sensorify is designed to make users aware of their energy consumption and promote more efficient heating and cooling of their (student) rooms. When the device detects that the radiator is on and simultaneously receives a signal that the window is open, the user is alerted through a red LED and a buzzer sound.Our primary goal with the Sensorify is to contribute to sustainability and energy conservation. We address the need for individuals to reduce their energy consumption and become aware of their energy usage patterns.
