ResponsibilitiesTotal responsibility for the employment and administration of 350 employees within the Air Department, with additional responsibility for the conduct and standards of aviation across the whole Air Station; encompassing over 3000 personnel and enhancing FOD (Foreign Object Damage) awareness in all areas. Director of Flying at world renowned Yeovilton International Air Day; with over 25,000 civilian visitors. Responsible for Physical and Documentary Security of entire site. Responsible for training and development of Naval Aviators, from Dartmouth Cadet to the Frontline. Total budgetary responsibility (£10m+) for all aviation facilities.Achievements• Significant reduction in FOD (Foreign Object Damage) to Aircraft (c£20m per yr) resulting in the award of RN Flight Safety trophy for an unprecedented consecutive term.• Increased awareness of RN and improved recruitment through engagement with Formula 3 motor sport team for unique sponsorship arrangement.• Oversaw design, development and construction of multi million pound new Air Traffic Control Tower project from inception to commissioning.
