At the point of lockdown, I was coming to the end of my A levels. On the 26th March 2020 I was furloughed by my employer. Within two days I had secured a job in Asda. I worked as a front-line worker throughout the pandemic whilst beginning study online as well as working with Hulatt Langan developments and Orbitance.During my A levels, I successfully balanced a part time job along with my full-time education. During that time, I worked weekends and weekday evenings including Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. In those years, I have only taken unpaid sick leave on less than half a dozen times. I can work as part of a team or independently. I have a naturally friendly disposition which I share with both customers and colleagues. I can accept criticism and adapt my work accordingly. My good practice has continued into all my other lines of work in Asda and my other work opportunities. I enjoy different sorts of problem solving which are in my current sphere. These include, problem solving in a supermarket, the problem solving needed when buying and renovating a house, and the time management and problem-solving skills needed for studying online for further qualifications.I have a good work ethic. I am loyal to my company, and its customers. On four occasions, the restaurant proprietor has commended me on my work and awarded me a pay rise. I sometimes have to deal with complaints as well as awkward customers. I remain patient and professional. I try to make the customer feel that they have been heard and do what I can to remedy the situation. Lastly, I will do a follow up to make sure everything is satisfactory.
