Profile bio

About Patrick Larosa

I graduated summa cum laude from the University of Dayton with a bachelor of engineering degree in chemical engineering, honors with distinction. I have completed three co-op rotations with BP at their Whiting Refinery in both process engineering and process safety. I have experience in process hazard analysis, process design, unit health monitoring, and the operation of multiple refinery units including crude and coking units, utilities, wastewater treatment, sulfur recovery, and the fluidized cat cracking unit. These work experiences are more detailed below and in my resume. I am currently working full time as a process support engineer at BP's Whiting Refinery, supporting a crude unit and a gas plant.I chose to major in chemical engineering because I want to use my technical knowledge in physics, chemistry, and related fields to improve existing processes, and to create new and innovative tools and utilities. I want to learn and understand as much as I can about chemistry and chemical processes, and then apply that knowledge to improve the world for the better.I have a very strong work ethic, and I am driven to learn and succeed. I am also a quick learner, and I have very strong communication skills. A notable course I completed is Building Energy Education, where I performed an energy audit of Kettering Labs at the University of Dayton.
