My role was to act as an Analyst and Developer participating in all phases of development. We utilized Rational ReqPro for requirements, Test Manager for logging of test scenarios and test execution, ClearQuest for defects, and ClearCase for source management. Development was in COBOL in an HP/UX environment utilizing the Micro Focus Net Express development product. Minor experience performing maintenance and enhancements on a JAVA program that ran in batch. After implementation, became the primary support for these applications.

When the overall program was cancelled, we actually had to remove implemented code, as we had already begun the implementation phase for our project.

Jun 1997 - Jan 2001Lead a team of developers through all phases of application development, implementation, and support in a Tandem environment. Documented and analyzed requirements, generated specifications, and supervised all aspects of code development. Programmed in COBOL, TACL, and occasionally in TAL using D30-D47 operating systems. Coordinated production primary and backup support, as well as participating in the rotation. Applications included Order Routing System, Execution Routing System, After Hours Orders, Mutual Fund Interactive, Institutional Delivery System, and various other clearing and pricing applications. In addition to the previous, during the last 6 months in this position I was concurrently supervising a Quality Assurance team made up of an additional 3-4 developers and testers. This team was working in a Tandem OSS environment running the G06 operating system on S-series Tandem servers. This team was testing various infrastructure pieces that supported a new application, Order Management System. This is a new effort for the company, and our QA efforts were focused on repeatable testing and defect tracking. Experience with ClearQuest defect tracking tool. This effort was not begun until development was partially completed, yet we managed to put together sets of functional, repeatable tests that uncovered 60 defects among 4 infrastructure components prior to my leaving this area.

Duties included maintenance of 50 SQL tables, and the design and creation of new SQL tables as necessary. This position requires sharing expertise with management and other programmers on a daily basis. -

Development tools and utilities included TSO/ISPF, ROSCOE, CA-LIBRARIAN, CA-TLMS, CA-DISPATCH and PL-SORT.Responsible for the ongoing support and enhancement of the McCormack & Dodge General Ledger and Accounts Payable package, along with the support for the rest of our financial systems. These additional systems include Sales History, Merchandise Receipt, Customer Billing, Financial and Physical Inventory, Personnel and Payroll systems. This position involved heavy user contact and primary production support for the General Ledger and Accounts Payable systems.
