Patrick specializes in insurance litigation on first- and third-party claims, with a subspecialty in the area of construction defect. He is a veteran litigator with extensive experience in technical, complex, expert-driven disputes. He combines a collaborative approach to resolution with aggressive strategies as dynamics require.

Patrick practiced in the areas of business, construction and professional liability litigation. Represented general contractors, subcontractors, construction managers, architects, engineers, and other professionals in defect litigation, errors and omissions defense, and contractual indemnity enforcement and defense.

Patrick represented architects, engineers (civil, structural, MEP, geotechnical), construction managers, resident engineers/inspectors, landscape architects, interior designers and other construction personnel in errors and omissions defense, express indemnity enforcement and defense, and breach of contract litigation.

• Patrick worked at a sophisticated plaintiffs’ firm engaged in the practice of complex civil litigation throughout the State of California • He represented 109 of 508 plaintiffs in a Judicial Council Coordinated Proceeding resulting in a $660 million settlement • He participated in all phases of litigation, including conducting and defending depositions • He briefed and argued discovery and adjudicative motions, including motions for summary judgment, demurrers, and motions to compel • He assisted in all facets of trial preparation, including preparation and drafting of trial briefs, joint lists of trial witnesses and trial exhibits, and motions in limine • He participated in various stages of appellate litigation, including briefing writ petitions, preliminary oppositions, and requests for de-publication
