As a Michigan State University student majoring in Kinesiology, I have had hands-on experience through a Landscape Assistant role at Willow Tree Outdoor, LLC. While designing and maintaining residential landscapes, I developed a strong foundation in strategic planning and attention to detail, while also gaining insights into the physical demands of outdoor work environments. This experience highlighted the importance of ergonomic practices and efficient movement patterns, which align closely with my kinesiology studies.At Willow Tree Outdoor, our team collaborated to create outdoor spaces that delighted our clients. I applied principles of body mechanics and movement efficiency to ensure the safety and productivity of our work. The hands-on nature of the role allowed me to think critically about how kinesiology principles can be integrated into labor-intensive industries to reduce injury risk and improve performance.I'm eager to apply my background in both landscape design and kinesiology to future endeavors, whether through improving workplace ergonomics or optimizing human performance in physically demanding environments, I thrive in collaborative settings that value diverse perspectives and aim to contribute to a culture focused on innovation and well-being.
