Primary duties:Oversees plans and coordinates facility capital improvement projects (CIP’s), maintenance, grounds keeping, traffic signage, DC electrical and special events set up for the City of Goldsboro. Creates and consolidates contracts, schedules annual inspections for HVAC units, fire sprinkler/backflow, elevator equipment and generator PM’s.Ensure safety and quality of work as well as efficiency. Finding ways to help the city of Goldsboro cut costs on labor and utilities through proactive maintenance scheduling and updating machinery and lighting that is more economical throughout Goldsboro facilities.

Job duties in this position include but are not limited to: Insulation, troubleshooting and repair of all city two-way radios, P/A systems and emergency lights on city owned vehicles. Keeping detailed monthly records on all jobs preformed. Overseeing purchasing of tools, supplies, and hardware. Trains other lower-level technicians. Serves in absence of superintendent. Preforms advanced to expert level trade in construction and repair work in the maintenance repair of all city buildings and maintenance of all city traffic signs. System installation of heating and air-conditioning, Preforms regular preventive maintenance on all systems. Repairs/replaces fan motors, belts, such as circuit boards and pumps on City units. Repairs and maintains interior and exterior lights and electrical such as electrical fixtures and fans, outlets and switches. Installs electrical wiring and fuse boxes. Preforms plumbing repairs and maintenance plumbing fixtures. Additional job duties: assist in setting up and overseeing city events and functions. Operates bucket truck to hang Christmas lights. Preforms related duties as required

Routine manual work in the collection of garbage and refuse and related work as required. such as but not limited to: working with the leaf and limbs department and with the recycling crews. cleaning cans and miner "PM's" preventive maintenance on sanitation vehicles.
