Nonsense, originally called All The Heterosexual Nonsense, is a queer-led culture and comedy newsletter hosted on Substack. Founded by me and beloved comedy writer Rebecca Shaw, the newsletter is a home to our writing and recaps and columns, as well as publishing some of the best LGBTQIA+ writers around the world.We were also lucky enough to receive a public interest journalism grant from The Walkley Foundation & Meta, which has allowed us to grow the newsletter with a new project. The LGBTQIA+ Media Watch Project provides investigation, context, mythbusting and debunking around coverage and representation of the LGBTQIA+ community, across all media.Misinformation and poor standards of reporting are massive right now in the media, especially on LGBTQIA+ issues, and one of the best ways to combat this is to create a space where queer journalists are able to report on their own community and how mainstream media is depicting it. In this role I am in charge of everything, including commissioning and editing writers, and mentoring young trans and gender diverse writers.

Regularly write op-eds, memoir and essays, arts & culture criticism, and humour and entertainment for publications like The Guardian, Sydney Morning Herald, The Age, Junkee, ABC Everyday, Screenhub, Esquire, and more. Open for commissions and for comment.

As Digital Content Producer, I am responsible for running the corporate social media presence of Toll Group, one of the largest logistics and freight companies in Australia. As well as drafting and delivering social media content for Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn, I research and write articles, case studies and interviews for their websites and newsletters. I am also in charge of customer service flow via social media channels. In my time at Toll I have created digital strategy and implemented social media support for a major tech & logistics conference.
