I am a Student Advocate with the TAPESTRY program. Relying on my interpersonal and relationship building skills I expertly navigate the network of connections I've built to assuage the concerns of all parties and foster an environment through which my students are much more likely to find success. As an Advocate, some of my core responsibilities include: utilizing data-driven improvement practices, extensive relationship building & relationship management, community outreach through door-to-door canvassing, home visits, mailings & flyers, E-mailings and cold calling to increase engagement in the program.I am responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with all parties that impact students success. Following my success as a counselor at Albany Care (A rehabilitation facility for the severely chronically mentally ill), I was promoted to the role of Quality Assurance Coordinator. I gained invaluable experience in managing my department, developing and administering cross-department training programs, Compliance audits, building relationships and effective communication with facility department heads; Psychiatrists; Physicians; Building administrators, and effectively mitigating negative outcomes of patients in crisis.I'm Very grateful for the opportunities afforded to me within this role. As a Psychosocial Rehabilitation Services Counselor, I provided services for a caseload of approximately 30 residents diagnosed with chronic severe mental illnesses. My duties ranged from Counseling residents daily on understanding symptoms and how to implement various coping skills to Intervening in crisis situations including physically redirecting aggressive individuals. I will always have a warm place in my heart for individuals that suffer from mental illness as I have extensive exposure to exactly how debilitating mental illness can truly be. I left this role after receiving an internal promotion but the Incredible people I was honored to serve made permanent marks on my life perspective. Some even left permanent physical marks! With fondness, not regret I recall the countless crisis' in which I was called to respond. As one of the few males in the facility and often the only male in my department, I was leaned on for both my ability to safely physically intervene and my calm disposition.

Upon matriculation, I was asked to return for seasonal work with additional commision incentive during my University breaks. I'm a natural born seller, Taylor made for a role in sales. Unfortunately, despite my success in the role, I learned a very valuable lesson. I cannot sell something I don't believe in.
