I do everything from making sure that the students know there is a meeting/when and where. To asking them if their projects are done, school work is caught up ( help them with both if there is a problem).I frequently cook meals at the meetings so they don't have to stop work to go get burgers down the street. Teach them how to design, research, and do conceptual drawings of a project. Frequently trouble shoot the blue prints which they present and help them find ways to make a project faster, cleaner (less waste) as well as make sure the students are making best use of tools and materials we have.I also proof read papers, reports and Team E-mails, publicity statements for them.If all of that is handled, some times I get to show them how to use the tools in the shop, and talk about "where do you want to go in life" as a sort of career councilor.

I learned the basics of hand and powered tools; care, use and storage.We learned shop safety and common practices for a crowded / loud environment, as well as communications.I was studying manual Lathe and Milling machines at the time having completed blue printing was about to study "GD&T" in preparation for taking CNC machining.

I taught the safe use and storage of all equipment needed for rock climbing, general hiking / outdoors safety and emergency / first aid steps for teams of boys and leaders coming out on a hike or climb. Taught the use of ropes, basic knots, how to determine if a site was suitable, what might make a site unsuitable. Was also a member of the "Lost hiker team"; and went out twice to find kids, hikers or non-scouts in the area reported missing. Some book keeping and inventory, damage assessment for equipment.
