To lead the delivery of the £22.6m Bedford Town Deal programme of schemes comprising; transport and highway improvements, upgrading the public realm, development of the new Bedford railway station and enhancements to the education sector.The roles responsibilities adhere to the systems and processes mandated by central government, including Business Case preparation to HM Treasury “green book” standards, a specifically defined Monitoring and Evaluation framework, and the forecasting, reporting and reclaiming of costs inaccordance with detailed financial regulations.This specialist role aligns with the government’s growth agenda for the Oxford – Cambridge Arc, and Bedford Borough Council’s key position within that. The role is pivotal to ensure that Bedford maximises its capacity for growth by ensuring that existing residents are catered for to such an extent that the level of development in the Borough is accepted and welcomed.

12 Month Secondment to deliver the Council’s Growth Plan which supports the development of the local economy, through positive action to grow business, develop people and enhance the Borough as a place. To lead on high value town centre regeneration-related funding bids and schemes and the delivery of a flourishing outdoor market. To be the Council’s lead officer on business support initiatives, attracting new investment and jobs to the Borough and leading on the Council’s All Age Skills Plan to maximise skills and employment opportunities required for a vibrant local economy. To contribute to the delivery and management of infrastructure plans and projects that generate income and enable economic development and business growth.
