Meridcom was founded to allow everyone seamless access to a reliable pre-paid internet platform. Our client profile included tourist, individuals without access to credit cards and low income families. Targeting the "Prepaid calling card" industry we developed a retail package that included an installation CD and gave the user access to hourly prepaid internet time on a Tier 1 backbone along with world class 24X7 technical support and it could be recharged at a local retail store. Within two years Meridcom became the leading provider of prepaid Internet access in the United States, Canada, Puerto Rico and U.S. Virgin Islands with product distribution under the brand name Meridian Prime along with private label agreements with the largest prepaid calling card companies in the industry. Negotiations with the prepaid calling card industry resulted in a distribution footprint with access to over 35,000 retail locations. The company was sold in 07.
