P Malia Consulting, LLC provides Construction Code and Regulatory consulting services for design professionals and owners. Services include construction code review for various projects and/or permit expediting services. The firm provides construction code and regulatory consulting based on experience with code development and enforcement in the State of New Jersey and work within the casino regulatory and design industry throughout the United States and Internationally.

As Vice President/Regulatory Liaison for the Friedmutter Group my duties included interfacing with architects and designers, and engineering consultants as well as ownersfrom the design development of a project through construction administration. I was responsible for interfacing with consultants with regard to life safety code compliance,egress and accessibility codes including the federal Americans with Disabilities Act. I dealt extensively with FEMA Region II and Region IV with respect to flood and other regulatory issues in various states. Additional duties at the request of the owner, included interfacing with the local building department and regulatory agencies necessary to obtain permits and approvals through the course of construction up to and including obtaining acertificate of occupancy.I was further responsible for the administration of the office in Atlantic City that had as many as 26 architects, interior designers, graphic designers and clerical staff. I wasresponsible for tracking of staffing needs and assignments. I further assisted in the preparation of major presentations, assisted in the response to Requests for Qualifications,and assisted in the preparation of proposals for the firm.

I was employed as a Building Inspector, Building Official and Construction Official with the City of Atlantic City, New Jersey. In this capacity I was responsible for enforcement of the Uniform Construction Code of the State of New Jersey on all buildings within the city including Casino Hotels. The structures involved ranged from lightweight wood frame structures to the largest buildings in the state of New Jersey.
