Assisted in factory testing of light rail signal control system for the Miami-Date extension. This included integration with control panels for the light rail operators as well as communications between Vital logic controllers, PLC and display boards. Was responsible for establishing communications between three signal houses as well as communication from Vital Protection equipment to both local operator control interfaces and to the central control interface. Worked on setup and testing of the relay logic and track circuits systems. Assisted in testing of control system consisting of verifying route designation and clearing, proper signalling to operators visually and electronically via cab code.

This included design of new network transport system utilising IP communications over Fiber Optic Networks. The included an Impact analysis of adding new network equipment and simulating the Network Using OPNet Software Package to find potential bottlenecks or problems in traffic flow. This included analysis of the existing phone switch and integration with current technologies to extend capabilities.Detailed design of PA and Variable message systems.Wrote technical specification documents for Network, Public address and Variable messages signs. These were very detailed contractor specifications describing all applicable codes and installation requirements for the light rail extension.Stanford KeenDesign and installation of Asterisk VoIP telephony system. This included basic and advanced call plan setup, end device configuration and integration. Also configured and installed all telephony interfaces ranging from single POTS lines to T1 devices. Was responsible for advanced programming to adapt the VoIP system for specific needs and integration with existing business application and web interfaces. This was accomplished utilizing the AGI programing interface built in asterisk interfacing all call functions with MySQL and the web based applications.Providing customer support and assistance with integration of VoIP Systems into existing infrastructure.

If it was a new installation, I would meet with the Telecommunication Carriers high voltage protection specialist at the site, provide a GPR report to them and describe my proposed installation for the site. Upon acceptance, by the Telecommunications carrier, an order would be placed for a 4 wire data circuit (for SCADA) and a 1 MB phone line.

Design and assembled parts list for installation of IP CCTV cameras at light rail stations. The CCTV cameras were connected to a Gigabit Ethernet switch on a Fiber optic connection with Transition Networks Fiber optic transceivers. Oversaw the implementation of the design and managed the project from start to completion. Project verification, testing and acceptance. Design and implementation of the Sacramento Regional Transit Data Center. I was responsible for overall layout, termination of services in the data center, power distribution and cabling. I was also responsible for network analysis and long-term impact of expanding the network. This included analysis of present network needs as well as future needs and how those demands will affect the overall topology. I managed the project from design to implementation to completion. Design of Fiber optic backbone. I designed the OSP cable installation for 288 Fibers running both aerially and in conduit from the data center to the main Admin Headquarters. This includes all technical documentation for bidding the physical installation.Implemented the rollout of the Cisco Call manager VOIP phone system for RT. This included setting up the call manager, routers, phones and sever third party applications for paging and call recording.Designed CCTV systems for monitoring the Light Rail Systems at the Stations. This was done utilizing IP based PTZ cameras mounted at various locations and various mounting types. I also designed the video transport system for these cameras using both copper and Fiber. I installed Digital Video Recorders at these stations and configured them to record locally all video from the cameras at those stations.
