Supervised 8 people developing Java-based applications, network and GUI components for network management applications, as well as developing code myself. Wrote an extensible data proxy server to allow applet clients running in a web browser to request data from many different sources (live data, database, test data) and protocols (SNMP, SSAPI) in a consistent manner. Implemented using a hybrid of Java and C/C++ using the JDK-1.0.2 native code interface as well as the JDK-1.1 JNI interface on both NT and Solaris. This took advantage of both Java and native threading and thread synchronization mechanisms. Developed web pages, and set up web servers to publish group documentation, schedules, demos, and other information. Project lead on Visual Basic 4.0-based toolkit for network management application development. Developed network management OLE objects to use as GUI components in VB. The core of the toolkit was an OLE object that performed SNMP tasks. The SNMP control presented itself as a VB ‘data source’, allowing it to present data to any data-aware VB control. Coordinated the technical issues for the group, in addition to producing source control, build, and install procedures and tools. Senior technical lead on GUI network management application development toolkit. The toolkit was written in C++ using Neuron Data's Open Interface portable GUI library.
